Paris: August 12

We got some sleep on the 10-hour, non-stop flight from Salt Lake City to Paris, after almost missing our flight.
We are having a wonderful time.
On the metro from Charles De Gaul to our hotel, Dad sat next to a young man who went out of his way to make sure we got to our destination. He was carrying a major backpacking load returning from the Czech Republic and carried one of our bags. Ben Hugonet, a Paris native, was charming and kind. Don't believe it when they say the French are rude. They are just talking about those who get paid to be of service.

Checked into our great hotel after arrival to ditch the luggage, then took The Metro downtown. Sat next to a dad, mom and teen from London who had just returned from a tour of western USA which included Salt Lake City. They are touring Paris for the weekend. We said we expect to see them underground on The Tube this week in London.
We took a tour of Notre Dame while mass was being chanted.
The pigeons mistook Emma for a famous statue.
We bought Italian paninis from a Shri Lanka cook and ate them by the Seine in Paris. A guy asked Haley and Emma for permission to video them waving at passing boats for a film he is making.The tourists cruising by cooperated by waving back.
We went to the Louvre and took photos as the sun was setting. Gorgeous stuff. A concert violinist was playing for change.

Emma walked across the subway air vent since she had on shorts.
These guys were selling miniature Eiffel Towers with the real one as a backdrop.
We took the metro back to our hotel and crashed.
